Before founding Cowley Inc and specialising exclusively in IP law, Stefanie practiced for over ten years at one of Namibia’s large commercial law firms, where she established and headed the IP department since 2008, and was a director since 2009.
Stefanie administered the trade mark portfolios of key local and international clients across various industries, including the insurance, mining, tourism, pharmaceutical, tobacco, as well the food industry. She has a strong corporate and commercial law background, and extensive experience in litigation, having represented many local and international clients in general commercial as well as IP-related cases in the High Court of Namibia as well as the Namibian Supreme Court.
Before her admission as a legal practitioner of the High Court of Namibia and the start of her professional career, Stefanie graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Business Science (Honours) degree and from the University of South Africa with a Bachelor of Laws degree.
Stefanie is a member of the Law Society of Namibia, where she served on the commercial law committee from 2014 to 2015. She is also a member of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law (SAIIPL).
